When all you need is the muscle
Plenty of people book their own truck. You rented the box truck, or a pod is sitting in the driveway, or a container is on its way, and the real question is who is going to lift the washer. Friends are free until the third hour, when the favor turns into a chore and a couch ends up wedged in a doorway.
Loading by yourself goes wrong in predictable ways. The heavy items go in last because they were hardest to move. Boxes get stacked in towers with nothing holding them. Gaps open up between furniture, and on the first hard brake everything leans into them. A rental truck has no quilted pads in it unless you bring them, so every dresser rides bare against the wall.
That is where loading and unloading only comes in. It is one of the services B&M offers on its own, no full move attached.
How a labor-only load is stacked
Call or text (610) 299-1403 with the date, the address and the type of truck, pod or container you have arranged. We quote the job free, with no hidden fees, and last-minute dates are welcome. The crew arrives, looks at the ramp, the doorway and the stairs, and decides the order before the first piece moves.
Furniture is wrapped in quilted pads and stretch wrap, then carried out on a dolly or a hand truck. The load goes in from the front wall back: the heaviest items first and tight to the sides, mattresses and lighter furniture built on top, boxes filling the gaps so there is no space left to slide into. Ratchet straps go across each tier. A pod or container is built the same way, because the truck that hauls it will take the same corners.
You keep control of the rest. Choose the truck, choose the date, pack the boxes yourself or have B&M pack them, and drive away with a load that rides as one solid block instead of forty separate problems.
The other end: unloading and placing it
Unloading is not just the load in reverse. A good crew reads the stack, takes the straps off in the right order and brings out the pieces that keep the others stable last. Then the placement starts: furniture goes to the room you pick, beds are set up first and the boxes land in the rooms named on their sides.
Have the doorway and the path cleared before we arrive, and make sure the ramp or the pod has a flat place to sit. If the new place is an apartment in Trenton, a townhouse in Hamilton Township or a house in West Windsor, check parking and any elevator booking in advance so the crew can work without waiting.
Moving a rental truck from Ewing across the line to Morrisville, PA, or a container to the other side of Mercer County, works the same way. Call or text (610) 299-1403 and tell us what you are loading. If you also want the old place cleared out or cleaned afterward, we do that too.
