Long distance and out-of-state moves

Relocating across the state or out of it, through New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware, with one company and one phone number from the first box to the last.

Why a move across state lines falls apart

A long move punishes small mistakes. A box that is only half full collapses under the one stacked on it somewhere past the state line. A load built in a hurry shifts on the highway and the first thing to give is the dresser nobody padded. An inventory that lives in someone's head turns into an argument at the other end about what was supposed to be on the truck.

The other failure is contact. A long move that gets handed between companies and call centers leaves nobody who owns it, and when something changes there is no one to call who knows the load. With B&M it is one family business and one number, (610) 299-1403, from the quote to the last box.

How a New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Delaware move is planned

Planning starts on the phone. Call or text (610) 299-1403 and tell us the pickup address, the delivery address and what is coming along: how many rooms, any large furniture, anything fragile. We give a free quote with no hidden fees, and if the date is close, say so, because last-minute moves are welcome.

Before anything goes on the truck, we walk the home and make an inventory, room by room, so both sides know what was loaded. Furniture gets quilted pads and stretch wrap. Boxes are packed tight and labelled by room, and if you would rather not pack at all, B&M also does packing and unpacking.

Loading order matters more on a long haul than a short one. Heavy pieces go against the walls and the front of the box, lighter furniture builds up from there, and boxes fill every gap so the load becomes one solid block. Straps lock it in. The same family-owned crew loads the truck and unloads it, whether you are leaving Ewing for a town in Montgomery County, PA or heading south toward Delaware.

Delivery day, and what to have ready

On delivery day the crew checks the load against the inventory as it comes off the truck, then places each piece where you want it. A load that was built in order comes off in order, heavy pieces first to the rooms they belong in, boxes after them by their labels.

A few things make the day smoother. Confirm parking and any building rules at the new address ahead of time, especially for apartments and townhouse streets. Keep a small bag of essentials with you: chargers, medications, documents, a change of clothes and the first night's bedding. Walk through each room with the crew and point out which boxes belong where.

Out-of-state moves are part of what B&M does, and the questions are the ones neighbors in Trenton, West Windsor and East Windsor ask. If something about your move is unusual, call or text (610) 299-1403 before you book and ask. We would rather sort it out on the phone than on the driveway.
